When we welcome a new patient to the practice, we also welcome any questions you may have about office policies, insurance, and of course, fees. Let's anticipate you have questions about financial arrangements.
We work very hard to control the cost to dental care. It's part of our philosphy that quallity care should be available to everyone. Our first rule of thumb: before any work is performed, we'll sit together and go over our estimate of charges-every detail.
Insurance make life easier. We will file your claim forms and answer any questions you have. Each policy is different, but in genral, insurance usually covers about 100% of preventative care, 80% of basic care, and 50% of major work. Pre-authorization for major work will tell you the amount of your obligation ahead of time. This way you pay only the estimated percentage of you total bill, that portion not covered by insurance.
All payments are due the day of your appointment, unless other arrangements have been made. We do not guarantee any payment from the insurance carrier. Any balance after the insurance has paid will be your responsibility. If we have underestimated your share, we will bill you seperately. If you have over paid, we will credit your account or send a refund to you promptly.
For our patients without insurance we do accept VISA, Mastercard and Discover. If this is impossible for you, we can work out alternative financial arrangements. Prepayment of sevices over $500 can qualify for a 5% book-keeping courtesy. We also offer a 12 month no interest loan for any treatment plan over $500. This is through Wells Fargo Bank and is granted on your credit history.
The way we see it, there's always a way to get the help you need.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
